In Amharic, ‘ኛ’ comes at the end of every language name
Did you know that in Amharic, almost every language name ends with ‘ኛ‘? Let’s translate a few languages into Amharic and notice how they all end with ‘ኛ.’
- Amharic is አማርኛ
- Oromo is ኦሮምኛ
- Arabic is አረብኛ
- English is እንግሊዝ/ዘኛ
- Chinese is ቻይንኛ
- Spanish is ስፓኒሽኛ
- Afar is አፋርኛ
- Somali is ሶማሊኛ
- Tigrigna is ትግርኛ
- Gurage is ጉራግኛ
- Siltie is ስልጥኛ
ይቀጥላል። It keeps going on and on.
