Amharic Lesson Series 4
In this video, you will learn 10 very useful Amharic words and phrases starting with the sixth letter, “ህ.” And there is also a fun quiz at the end; we will finish it very quickly. So stay tuned till the end.
10 Amharic words start with ‘ህ’
1. ህፃን (htsan) – baby, child
ህፃኑ ተኝቷል። = htsanu tegntual. (The baby is sleeping.)
2. ህግ (hg) – law
ሁሉም ሰው ህግ ማክበር አለበት።
hulum sew hg makber alebet.
Everyone must respect the law.
3. ህይወት (hywet) – life
ህይወት እንደት ነው? hywet endet new?
How is life?
4. ህዝብ (hzb) – people, nation
የኢትዮጵያ ህዝብ እንግዳ ተቀባይ ነው።
YeEthiopia hzb engda teqebay new.
The Ethiopian people are hospitable.
5. ህንፃ (hntsa) – building
ይህ ህንፃ በጣም ረጅም ነው።
Yih hntsa betam rejm new.
This building is very tall.
6. ህክምና (hkmna) – treatment, medical care
ዶክተሩ ጥሩ ህክምና አደረጉለት።
Dokteru tru hkmna aderegulet.
The doctor gave him good treatment.
7. ህሊና (hlina) – conscience
እንድህ አይነት ስራ ለመስራት ህሊናዬ አይፈቅድም።
Endh aynet sra lemesrat hlinaye ayfeqdm.
My conscience won’t let me do something like that.
8. ህልም (hlm) – dream
ትናንት ማታ አስደሳች ህልም አየሁ።
Tnant mata asdesach hlm ayehu.
I had a pleasant dream last night.
9. ህብረት (hbret) – unity, union
በህብረት መስራት ደስ ይላል።
Behbret mesrat hayl new.
It is fun to work together.
10. ህዳር (Hdar) = November
ህዳር 10 ነው የተወለድከው? Hdar asr new yeteweledkew? Were you born on November 10th?
