Amharic hybrid letters (Fidel): Easy Amharic Part 3

What are Amharic hybrid letters? As we have seen here, when vowels are added to the Amharic consonants, the Amharic consonants change their shape, sound, and meaning about six times. Let’s look at an example to understand how this works:

But in some Amharic consonant letters, when two vowels, namely “ኡኣ/ ua,” are added in succession, they form another eighth letter. This is what is called a hybrid alphabet. Next are the hybrid letters that are created in this way and are sometimes used.
