Types of Amharic adverbs

The Amharic adverbs are divided into 2 main parts.

1. (ሀ) የዋህ ተውሳከ ግስ (Simple Abverbs)
2. (ለ) መጠይቅ ተውሳከ ግሥ (Interrogative Abverbs)

(ሀ) ቀላል ተውሳከ ግስ (Easy Abverbs)

In this lesson, you will learn the ቀላል ተውሳከ ግስ (Easy Abverbs) and the others in the next lesson.

Simple adverbs are divided into the following categories:

1. የጊዜ ተውሳከ ግስ (Adverbs of time):
2. የቦታ ተውሳከ ግስ (Adverbs of place):
3. የግብር ተውሳከ ግስ (Adverbs of action)
4. የቁጥር ተውሳከ ግስ (Adverbs of number)
5. የመጠን ተውሳከ ግስ (Adverbs of Quantity)
6. የምክንያት ተውሳከ ግስ (Adverbs of reason)
7. የአዎንታ እና የአሉታ ተውሳከ ግስ (Adverbs of affirmative & negative)

Adverbs that are discussed in this section are very easy to understand; that is why we call them ቀላል (የዋህ) ተውሳከ ግሥ. We have therefore listed the main adverbs below for each section.
