Airport Dialogue in Amharic

• እንደት አደሩ? Good morning.

• ተመዝግቤ መግባት ፈልጌ ነበር።  I would like to check in.
• ወደ ኒው ዮርክ ነው የምበረው። I am flying to New York.
• ፓስፖርትዎን እና ትኬትዎን ማየት እችላለሁ? May I see your passport and your ticket, madam?
• በሚገባ፣ ትኬት እና ፓስፖርቴ ይሄው። Sure, here is my ticket and passport.
• ስንት ሻንጣ ነው የሚያስገቡት? How many bags are you checking in?
• አንድ ትልቅ ሻንጣ ብቻ ነው ያለኝ። I have just one big bag.
• እባክዎ ሻንጣዎን ሚዛኑ ላይ ያስቀምጡት። Please put your bag on the scale.
• በጣም ጥሩ። ሻንጣው በተፈቀደው የክብደት ልክ ነው። Perfect! Your bag is within the weight limit.
• አመሰግናለሁ። ከየትኛው በር እንደሚነሳ እና መሳፈሪያው በስንት ሰአት እንደሚጀምር ሊነግሩኝ ይላችሉ? Thank you. Can you tell me which gate I am departing from and what time the boarding starts?
• ከ 23ተኛው የመጠበቂያ ክፍል ነው የሚወጡት። የሚሳፈሩትም ከጧቱ 8፡30 ጀምሮ ነው። You are departing from gate 23 and boarding starts at 8:30 a.m.
• በረራው በሰዓቱ ስለሚነሳ ቢያንስ 30 ደቂቃ ቀደም ብለው የመሳፈሪያ ቦታው ላይ ቢገኙ ጥሩ ነው። The flight is on time so I recommend being at the gate at least 30 minutes before boarding.

• በጣም ጥሩ። ወደ ኒው ዮርክ የሚደረገው በረራ ምን ያህል ጊዜ ይወስዳል? That’s great. How long is the flight to New York?
• ወደ ኒው ዮርክ የሚደረገው በረራ በግምት 17 ሰዓታት ይፈጃል። For the flight time to New York is approximately 17 hours.

• በእጅዎ የሚይዙት ሻንጣ ከራስጌው ባለው የእቃ ማስቀመጫ ውስጥ ወይም ከፊት ለፊትዎ ባለው ወንበር ስር መግባት የሚችል መሆኑን ያረጋግጡ። Just make sure your carry-on suitcase fits in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.
• በጣም አመሰግናለሁ። መልካም ቀን! Thank you very much have a good day.

• ምስጋናዎን ተቀብያለሁ። ደህንነቱ የተጠበቀና አስደሳች ጉዞ ይሁንልዎ! You’re welcome have a safe and pleasant journey!

ወደ በረራ = Departure

እንደምን አደሩ እመቤት! እባክዎን ሁሉንም የኤሌክትሮኒክስ መሳሪያዎችዎን፣ ቀበቶዎን እና ጫማዎን እዚያ ካሉት ማስቀመጫዎች በአንዱ ውስጥ ያስቀምጡ እና ለፍተሻ በማጓጓዣ ቀበቶው ላይ ያስቀምጡ።

Good morning, madam. Please place all of your electronic devices, your belt, and your shoes in one of the bins over there, and then place them on the conveyor belt for screening.

ሰዓቴንም ማውለቅ ያስፈልገኛል? Do I need to take off my watch as well?

Yes, please remove your laptop from its bag and place it in a separate bin. It allows for a clearer X-ray image.

ትንሹ ሻንጣ በኤክስ-ሬይ ማሽኑ ውስጥ ማለፍ አለበት። እባክዎን በማጓጓዣ ቀበቶው ላይ ያስቀምጡት።

The small suitcase needs to go through the X-ray machine. Please place it on the conveyor belt.

ዕቃዎችዎን ማሳለፍያው ማሽን ላይ እንዳደረጉ፣ የብረቱ መመርመሪያው በኩል ይለፉ። ድምጽ ከተሰማ፣ ተጨማሪ ምርመራ ማድረግ ያስፈልገን ይሆናል። Just walk through the metal detector once your items are on the belt. If it beeps, we may need to do an additional check.
