Words Starting with ሌ (Le)

1. ሌሊት (Lielit) Night

ሌሊት ሌሊት ጅቦች ይጮሀሉ። (Lielit lielit jboch ychohalu.) Every night, hyenas howl.

2. ሌባ (Lieba) Thief

ሌባው ገንዘቡን ዘርፎ ጠፋ። (Liebaw genzebun zerfo tefa.)The thief robbed the money and disappeared.

3. ሌላ (Liela) Other, another

ሌላ መጽሐፍ ስጠኝ። (Liela metshaf stegn.) Give me another book.

4. ሌሎች (Lieloch) Others (plural of ሌላ)

ሌሎች ሰዎችም መጡ። (Lieloch sewochim metu.) Other people also came.

5. ሌላው (Lielaw) The other one, the rest

ሌላውን ስራ ነገ እንሰራዋለን። (Lielawn sra nege enserawalen.) We will do the other work tomorrow.

6. ሌብነት (Liebnet) Theft, stealing

ሌብነት አፀያፊ ባህሪ ነው። (Liebnet atseyafi bahri new.) Theft is an abominable crime.

1. ልምምድ (Lmmd) Practice, exercise

አማርኛ ለመልመድ ሁልጊዜ ልምምድ ማድረግ አለብህ። (Amargna lemelmed hulgizie lmmd madreg alebh.) You have to practice always to be able to speak Amharic.

2. ልምድ (Lmd) Experience

• እሱ በዚህ ሥራ የረጅም ጊዜ ልምድ አለው። (Esu bezih sra yerejm gizie lmd alew.) He has a long time of experience in this work.

3. ልማድ (Lmad) Habit, custom

• ሲናገሩ እየጮኹ መናገር መጥፎ ልማድ ነው። (Sinageru eyechokhu menager metfo lmad new.) It is a bad habit to shout while speaking.

4. ልብ (Lb) Heart

• ልብ ብለህ ስማኝ (Lb bleh smagn.) Listen to me carefully.

5. ልጅ (Lj) Child, son, daughter

• ልጄ ትምህርት ቤት ሄደ። (Ljie tmhrt biet hiede.) My son went to school.

6. ልብስ (Lbs) Clothes, garment

• አዲስ ልብስ ገዛሁ። (Ads lbs gezahu.) I bought new clothes.

7. ልማት (Lmat) Development

• አገሪቱ ልማት ላይ ነች። (Agertu lmat lay nech.) The country is in development.
