Amharic Words Starting with “ለ”

1. ለመደ (lemmede) – He get used to; he be accustomed to it. 🏡

• የአየሩን ሁኔታ ለመደ። – He got used to the weather.

2. ለማጅ (Lemaj) – Novice, beginner 🌱

• እሱ ገና ለማጅ ነው። – He is still a novice.

3. ለማንኛውም (lemaninyawm) – Anyway, in any case, regardless 🤔

• ለማንኛውም ነገ እንገናኛለን። – Anyway, we will meet tomorrow.

4. ለምሳሌ (Lemsalie) – For example, for instance 💡

• ፍራፍሬ መመገብ በጣም ጠቃሚ ነው፤ ለምሳሌ ሙዝ እና ብርቱካን። – Eating fruit is very important; for example, bananas and oranges.

5. ለምን? (Lemn?) – Why? ❓

• ለምን ይሄን አላደረግክም? – Why didn’t you do this?

6. ለረጅም ጊዜ (Lerejm gizie) – For a long time, for ages ⏳

• ለረጅም ጊዜ እዚህ አልነበርኩም። – I haven’t been here for a long time.

7. ለመነ (Lemene) – He Begged, he plead. 🙏

• ገንዘብ እንዲሰጠው ለመነው። – He begged him to give him money.

8. ለጋስ (Legas) – Generous, giving 🎁

• እሱ በጣም ለጋስ ሰው ነው። – He is a very generous person.

9. ለፍላፊ (Leflafi) – Talkative, chatty 🗣️🗣️

• እሷ በጣም ለፍላፊ ልጅ ናት። – She is a very talkative girl.

10. ለስላሳ (Leslasa) – Soft, smooth ☁️

• ይህ ጨርቅ በጣም ለስላሳ ነው። – This fabric is very soft.

11. አንድ ለአንድ (And leand) – One-on-one 🤝

• አስተማሪው ከእያንዳንዱ ተማሪ ጋር አንድ ለአንድ ይነጋገራል። – The teacher talks one-on-one with each student.

12. ለአራት ሩብ ጉዳይ (Le arat rub guday) – Quarter to four (3:45) 🕒

• ስብሰባው ለአራት ሩብ ጉዳይ ይጀምራል።- The meeting starts at quarter to four.
